AL East Weekly Recap

Boston (7-11): So it seems as though all is well again in The Nation.....with the exception of Carl Crawford...but give him time. As predicted, by me, the back end of the rotation has turned in some solid starts and the bats are coming around. Now I know everyone wants to jump on team Lowrie all of a sudden and hey, why not? He's been swinging a hot stick as of late which is all fine and dandy. However, don't expect him to keep up this kind of pace. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish the year hitting between .265 and .275, which is still an upgrade over Scutaro. But sometimes an unknown on a hot streak is just what a team needs to get on the right track. But when he inevitably drops back into mortality, I expect Crawford to get himself up to the level he is capable of performing at. In the meantime, the way they are pitching they aren't going to need many runs anyways. I go as far as to upgrade the Dice man from Dice - HR to Dice - PO.

New York (10-6): So the Yankees remain consistently chugging along through a rain-shortened week. Seems to be business as usual for the pinstripes despite the rare Rivera meltdown. The real story this week for them are the stellar starts turned in by Freddy Garcia and the Stay-Puff Marshmelow Man... I mean Bartolo Colon. Joe Girardi must have been doing back-flips in the clubhouse. Talk about unexpected saviors. I expect Garcia's numbers to decline faster than Colon's just based off of what I have seen. Colon's fastball is popping and dropping in the mid-90's and is showing great command of his off-speed stuff. However, you never know whats going through the head of that revolting blob so a meltdown could come out of nowhere. Garcia is bound to turn in a bad start here and there. That's just what happens when you have to play professional baseball with a Fastball that wouldn't even get you through the minors. Hes going to have to be pristine with his control to have any success.

Hey I know its a baseball article butttttttt couldn't resist this..........

  1. Riviera blew another one yesterday Secondini. However the Yanks still did win. Crawford had a nice weekend at the plate going 2 for 4 on the 23rd and 24th he hit a two run blast yesterday to help the Sox to win number 5 in a row. I am not going to get to excited over it as he is still battting under .200 seems like the Sox are figuring it out though
