What Really Grinds My Gears

So Cooper you actually did something good with your last post and inspired what is going to be my cornerstone. That's right, I'm paying homage to Peter Griffin, in a segment called "What Really Grinds My Gears."

Today's segment is inspired by Cooper's random music post. Not necessarily saying that Coop a loop is one of these people, but what really grinds my gears are the people who hate songs that are on the radio for the mere fact that they are on the radio. Its always, "oh they sold out" or "fucking conformists" etc. etc. NEWS FLASH when millions of people like a song, chances are that its pretty fucking good. I mean yea there is some good underground shit out there, but its just wrong to deny a good song just because it got in the right hands at the right time. Im fucking sorry that no one wants to listen to some asshole scream into a mic over heavy guitar or some dude who got shot 69 times, killed 16 dudes, and raped a chick isn't getting recognized for his street cred. Cry me a fucking river and get a job.

Take Coop's disdain for G6. Coop, hate to tell you, song is a smash, straight up. Throw that shit on in the cluuuuuuuuuuub, even the people taking shits are gonna go nuts. Don't be mad Banished By never caught on, just appreciate those crazy asains in the Far East Movement for the simple formula they've created.

Bottom line, pop some bottle in the ice, like a blizzard, and when you get drunk do it right get slizzered. Also if you get to slizzered make sure you can make it to the toilet.
And that's what really grinds my gears.

  1. Really? Did you just base an argument around "if everyone likes it, it must be good". The American people elected president bush into office. Was he good? Epic failure of an argument right here. G6 isn't a "good" song because people like it, it's good because American's are stupid.

  2. I'm more with Sac on this one. Sure because the majority of people happen to like something doesn't automatically make it good, but most of the time it is. If there was a terrible song people wouldn't request it and it wouldn't get played.

It's also a huge pet peeve of mine when people say "I like this song, but it's over played." Maybe it's me, but if there's a song I like, then I can't listen to it enough.

  3. Saying everyone likes it isn't an argument for being good. The million people that like it could be retarded.
Not to mention there are "gatekeepers" which kinda get to pick which songs are popular.
Also groupthink seems to make sense here.

Sacs argument was still ridiculous. There no way around it. If you only like it because its popular then do you really like it?
