AL East Weekly Recap

So here is the first edition of the series of posts that essentially only me, perm, and Dan Christie are going to read. I guess its kinds of appropriate that it comes on the day that the two feature teams will meet for the first time this season.

Boston (0-6):

So lets start it off with the headline that everyone and their mom are making way too big of a deal about. "Ughhh the fuckin sox suck doooooooooode. Season is ovahhhhhhhh." Yea they've essentially had nothing go right for them this week. Yea they're doing their best to make me look like an asshole (predicted them to finish first). But they've only played 6 games.....out of 162...If you're gonna tell me this team doesn't have a serious win streak waiting to happen then you're just joking yourself. People start out slow all of the time. unfortunately for the Sox right now its the whole team with the exceptions of Jon Lester and Adrian Gonzalez (my picks for Cy Young and MVP). All its gonna take is one win versus the hated Yanks and the ship will be back in the right direction. All they need is a good talk from Matt Foley, Motivational Speaker.

On another note, its about time Francona took Gonzalez out of the 5 spot and put him clean-up where he belongs. Yea the Hebron Hammer has been your go-to-guy in the past, but havin a guy like that protecting Adrian is just so invaluable. Also, stop fucking around with Crawford hitting 3. Good hitter, but guy was born to hit 2.

New York (4-2):

So for those of you who care Yanks have started out the year looking...well...average I guess? With the exception of a 4-run debacle, their highly touted 7,8,9 inning combo out of the bullpen has been stellar. Something that is only going to get better when Pedro Feliciano gets off of the DL. Boone Logan isn't fooling anyone as their go-to lefty. As far as the bats go A-Rod and Tex are starting out the season on the right foot. Seems like every time I look these guys are mashing an A-bomb or Text Message. Right now, the Cash-man is looking like a genius with the signings of Russel Martin and Andruw Jones. When I saw martin steal 3rd on opening day I almost shit myself. Oh yea and Jeter seems to be doomed to be an overpaid .270 hitter for the rest of his career....just saying....

The big question for the Yanks this year was their rotation. So far, gotta give it a B-. CC has looked good to start and AJ Burnett is starting to show signs of being a professional baseball player again. My X-Factor Phill Hughes layed an egg his first time out so we'll have to see what happens to him. Ivan Nova did exactly what he has to do this year. Give them 6 innings of 3 run ball every time out and this kid will win 15 games. We'll see how Freddy Garcia does when he finally gets a shot. Hes in the same boat as Nova.

So what are my predictions for this series? So glad you asked!! Sox get their first win today. And here's why:

Hughes vs. BOS Career: 2-3 4.97ERA

Lackey vs. NYY Last Year: 1-1 3.20 ERA

Despite good numbers, maybe even better than Lacky's, last year vs. the Sox, Fenway is not the place you want to find yourself as a visiting pitcher trying to find their groove.

They carry over the momentum into the next game only because you have Buchholz vs. Nova. A young kid like Nova isn't going to be ready just yet to face a hostile Fenway crowd. Finally in the matchup of CC vs beckett the Yanks salvage the series. CC does what hes getting overpaid to do and be the ace this team desperately need.

So there you have it. Play Ball Mother Fuckers!!
